Biography

Dr. Nair is an experienced and influential researcher in the advanced areas of protein engineering, protein chemistry, protein-protein interactions, and bio-conjugate development. As a trained biophysicist and biochemist, he has spent two decades in the field of protein science focusing on developing novel applied technologies. He has been in the forefront of studies employing protein crystals generated in vivo as a delivery platform for peptides and antigens and using them to create non-invasive vaccine- delivery systems. As an HIV researcher, Dr. Nair is extending his expertise in protein chemistry to employ novel strategies to identify infectious HIV provirus in patients on antiretroviral treatment with a focus on eradication of the virus from the host.
