Manuel Diaz-Curiel, PhD, MD, is Professor of Medicine in the Department Metabolic Bone Diseases at Fundación Jiménez Díaz and the Autonomous University of Madrid. Professor Diaz-Curiel is President of Fundación Hispana de Osteoporosis y Enfermedades Metabólicas Óseas (FHOEMO), Vice-President of the Mediterranean Society of Skeletal Diseases (MSOSD), and Past President of Sociedad Iberoamericana de Osteologia y Metabolismo Mineral (SIBOMM). He is a member of the Scientific Committee of International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and an honorary member of nine Bone and Mineral Metabolism Societies in South America. The author and co-author of more than 459 journal articles (including 104 referred in PubMed ( diaz curiel m or curiel md) and book chapters, Professor Diaz-Curiel has published, as editor, 35 books with a special focus in the field of osteoporosis and related disorders.
Dr. Diaz-Curiel's professional interests include clinical studies in epidemiology of osteoporosis and bone mass density; primary hyperparathyroidism; animal models of osteoporosis; treatment of primary osteoporosis; and male osteoporosis.
