Biography

Massimo Collino Born in Pinerolo (TO, Italy) – 19th January 1973 Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Dept. Drug Science and Technology, University of Turin (Italy).

Scientific Activity: Author of 86 full papers published in international journals with Impact Factor; Citations: 1886 total citations h-index: 25 European Coordinator and Principal Investigator of the European Project “Innovative Technological Approaches for validation of Salivary AGEs as novel biomarkers in evaluation of risk factors for diet-related diseases”, ERA-HDHL Transnational Call "Biomarkers for Nutrition and Health", 2017-2020.

Current research interests: Pathophysiology and the pharmacological therapy of diet-induced insulin resistance and the related cardiovascular risk factors, mainly organ-related ischemic events. Most recent research activity has been focused on the validation of the NLRP3 “inflammasome,” a multiprotein complex leading to the processing and secretion of the proinflammatory cytokines interleukin- (IL-)1beta and IL-18, as pharmacological target for cardiometabolic diseases.
