Mauricio Rojas is an Assistant Professor at the Division of Pulmonary, Associate Director Center for Translational Research in the Lung and Scholar McKelvey Lung Transplant Center at Emory University. He obtained his MD degree from the National University of Colombia in 1987. He received his training in Clinical Immunology in the National Institute of Immunology in Colombia, where he was named Coordinator of the Division of Cellular Immunology. In 1994 Dr Rojas joined Vanderbilt University as a Visiting Professor, were he completed two postdoctoral trainings in molecular Immunology. In 2001 he was named Instructor in the Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at Vanderbilt University until 2002 when he moved to Emory University. He had received several Scientist Travel Awards. In 2007 he received the Pulmonary Start Award. For significant contributions to the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care at Emory University. In 2009 he was distinguish with the Early Career Faculty Basic Research Award in the Department of Medicine at Emory University in recognition of the most outstanding publication by faculty member. Same year he was honor with the Dorothy Dillon Eweson Lecture by the American Federation for Aging Research. He is currently editor of PLoS ONE and the Journal of Clinical Rehabilitative Tissue Engineering Research. He is reviewer for more than 30 journals.
