Mojtaba Akhtari

Biography

Dr. Mojtaba Akhtari is a Hematologist/Oncologist with medical and hematology/oncology training and experience in United Kingdom and United States of America. Dr. Akhtari is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. His experience is fairly wide ranging having worked in academic teaching medical centers and community hospitals with high clinical workloads and a heavy reliance on clinical skills. He is also a member of adult bone marrow transplantation team. He has authored several book chapters and many articles in peer-reviewed journals. He received Humanism in Medicine Award at St. Francis Hospital of Evanston. He is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH), and American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT). Dr. Akhtari is a member of the Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Panel of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).

Research Interest

Acute and chronic leukemias as well as myelodysplastic syndromes, therapy-related myeloid neoplasms, immune cytopenias, and bone marrow transplantation.
