Dr. Nadera J. Sweiss is a specialist in rheumatology--the study of chronic and acute conditions that cause inflammation. Dr. Sweiss sees a wide variety of patients with autoimmune diseases. She has a particular interest in the treatment of patients with sarcoidosis, a disease of unknown etiology characterized by multiple organ involvement, most often the lungs and lymph nodes. Her recent research efforts focus on translational sarcoidosis. Her goal is to bridge basic science and clinical research to provide the best care for patients with sarcoidosis. Dr. Sweiss has participated-and continues to participate-as principal investigator in numerous clinical trials that focus on Sarcoidosis, Scleroderma, Raynaud’s phenomenon and Rheumatoid Arthritis, particularly for treatments when these disorders do not respond to traditional therapies.
