Professor Narsingh Deo holds Charles Millican Eminent Scholar’s Chair in Computer Science at University of Central Florida, Orlando. Earlier, he was Professor of Computer Science at Washington State University, and department chair. Before that he was a Professor of EECS at IIT, Kanpur, and a Member of Technical Staff at Jet Propulsion Laboratory. His Ph.D.(EE) is from Northwestern University.
Dr. Deo has held Visiting Professorships at several institutions--including University of Illinois, Urbana; University of Nebraska, Lincoln; Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; IBM is T. J. Watson Research Center; ETH, Zurich; Oak Ridge National Lab., Australian National University, and Chuo University, Tokyo.
A Fellow of IEEE, ACM, AAAS, he has authored four graduate-level textbooks and over 250 refereed research papers. He holds several patents in computer hardware. Among his numerous awards and honors are NASA Apollo Achievement Award (1969) and Governor Award for Outstanding Contribution to High Tech Research in Florida (1989).
