Nick Bendit

Biography

Dr. Nick Bendit is a staff specialist psychiatrist working at the Centre for Psychotherapy Newcastle Australia an out patient public psychotherapy unit offering longterm psychotherapy for patients with borderline personality disorder and eating disorders. He treats patients supervises and teaches in the Conversational Model and also treats patients with DBT. The Centre for Psychotherapy is currently conducting a randomized controlled trial comparing the outcome for patients with borderline personality disorder treated with either DBT or the Conversational Model.

Research Interest

He has an interest in the origin of chronic suicidal thoughts, particularly with regard to implicit memory and early developmental experiences.
