Dr. Nicola Troisi received his MD degree from the University “Federico II”, Naples, Italy. Then, he attended the post-doctorate fellowship training at the University of Florence, Italy, and he obtained the title of Specialist in Vascular Surgery (magna cum laude with a final experimental study “New technical solutions for the endovascular treatment of aneurysms of abdominal aorta and of iliac arteries”). Then, Dr Troisi was Clinical Research Fellow at the Department of Vascular Surgery, St. Franziskus Hospital, Münster, Germany and at the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery , University Hospital, Münster, Germany. Recently, he became Assistant Doctor in Vascular Surgery at the Department of Vascular Surgery, Cliniche Humanitas Gavazzeni, Bergamo, Italy. During his career, Dr. Troisi received several prizes, such as: 1. “Crinos” Research Prize 2006 at the XXVIII National Congress of SIAPAV in Rome with the original work “Loco-regional thrombolysis as first treatment in the acute lower limb ischemia”; 2. “Borgatti” Prize 2007 at the National Congress of SIDV-GIUV in Rome with the original work “The fate of abdominal aorta in patients undergoing open/endovascular repair of isolated iliac aneurysms: a prospective ultrasonographic surveillance program”; 3. “SICVE” Prize for young vascular surgeons with a research project “Complex aortic aneurysms”; 4. Honorable mention for the oral presentation and the manuscript in the XI ISES Endovascular Research Competition at the International Congress XXIII Endovascular Interventions in Phoenix, AZ, USA with the original work “Endurant stent-graft: a 2-year single-center experience with a new commercially available device for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms”.
