Biography

Dr. Norbert W. Seidler is Chairman (2004 to the Present) of the Department of Biochemistry at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB) in Missouri, USA. He attended Princeton University for his undergraduate studies. He received a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ), Newark, NJ, USA and completed three years of Postdoctoral Training under Dr. Martonosi at Health Science Center (HSC) in Syracuse, State University of New York (SUNY), NY, USA prior to his faculty appointment at KCUMB in Missouri, where he advanced to a Professor (in 2000) and then Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry. He also holds a faculty appointment at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri, USA as an Adjunct Professor of Anesthesiology Research in the Department of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the Intrinsically Disordered Proteins (IDP) Subgroup of the Biophysical Society (Maryland, USA). Dr. Seidler is a grant reviewer for the Alzheimer’s Association. He has published more than 60 research articles and book chapters.

Research Interest

Dr. Norbert Seidler’s major research interests include Alzheimer’s Disease, Anesthetic Preconditioning, Biological Properties and Diversity of GAPDH, Post-Operative Cognitive Dysfunction, and Chemical Chaperones.
