Dr. Pollock is a nutritionist and bone biologist in the Department of Pediatrics Medical College of Georgia at the Georgia Health Sciences University. Dr. Pollock’s research interest are related to how fat and bone metabolism affect energy regulation, emphasizing on factors such as diet, physical inactivity, metabolic diseases, hormonal imbalances, and genetic influences that are synonymous to both obesity and poor skeletal health. He is currently funded by NIH to study the bonederived protein osteocalcin on energy metabolism in overweight children at risk for prediabetes. Additional current research projects by Dr. Pollock include nutritional interventions with vitamin D and vitamin K vitamin D supplementation in children with asthma and vitamin K supplementation in overweight children with prediabetes.
