Department of Animal Biology, Plant and Ecology
University of A Coruña, Spain
Dr. Rodriguez holds a Ph.D. in Marine Science from the University of Vigo (Spain). Her main line of research is focused on the design and implementation of embryo-larval bioassays to evaluate the environmental quality of coastal ecosystems. She works specifically in the application of bioassays to the characterization of dredged material and to the environmental monitoring of oil-spills. She has developed part of her research in an environmental consulting, adapting bioassay protocols for industry use. After working as a consultant in the Program of Integrated Coastal Zone Management of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC / UNESCO), she currently develops her research in the University of A Coruña. She is focused on the sustainable management of marine resources and is particularly interested in the marine protected areas as management and conservation tools.
