Dr. Patrizia Polverino de Laureto has received her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Padua, during the period from 1991 to 1993. Currently she is working as researcher at CRIBI Biotechnology Centre of University of Padua and teaches Biochemical Methodologies and Proteomics at the Faculty of Pharmacy Analytical Biochemistry and Methodologies of Functional Genomics Proteomics at the Faculty of Sciences. She has authored 63 full publications, 120 posters and 15 oral communications to Congresses. and she is serving as referee of several reputed journals. She is a member of SIB Italian Society of Biochemistry
Main scientific interests are in the field of protein folding and misfolding, protein chemistry, bio-spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and proteomics. In particular she is interested in the study of the aggregation process of amyloidogenic proteins involved in neurodegeneration and amyloid diseases.
