Biography

Founder of the Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad (IVI), formed of 6 clinics in different cities of Spain (Valencia, Sevilla, Madrid, Murcia, Castellón, Almería) and one in México DF. The IVI Group is probably the most active team in reproductive Medicine in the world, since >6000 in vitro fertilization cycles are performed per year. The IVI Group has more than 200 employees, including clinical personnel, investigators, administratives and others. The influence of the IVI Group, especially the clinics in Valencia and Madrid, is international, since patients from all over the world are treated here, mainly couples from Germany, Denmark, Portugal, United Kingdom, and South-America. From the beginning, the IVI Group has had a R+D Department, which has presently developed in the IVI Foundation for the Study of Reproduction  (FIVIER), which works annually with approximately 300.000 Euros, receiving grants from the local and national Administrations, as well as from private companies. As a result, the profits of a clinical activity have been invested in Science, with benefits for the University of Valencia, and the Society in general.
