Biography

Dr Papadakos is Director of the Division of Critical Care Medicine, Professor of Anesthesiology, Surgery and Neurosurgery at the University of Rochester. He is a graduate of the Mt Sinai School of Medicine. He started his training in Surgery at the Roosevelt Hospital in NYC. He completed an Anesthesiology Residency and a fellowship in Surgical Critical at the Mt Sinai Hospital in NYC.   Dr Papadakos was one of the founders of the practice of surgical critical care in the City of Rochester. He is associate Director of the Strong Regional Trauma Center. He has edited four textbooks in the field of Critical Care Medicine and authored over 100 chapters and articles in the field of Critical Care of the surgical and trauma patient. Dr Papadakos is an internationally recognized expert in Critical Care, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Mechanical Ventilation. He has served as an invited speaker throughout the US, Europe and Asia.  He serves on several National and International advisory boards including the NIH, FDA and Swiss national science foundation.
