Dr. Peter Schönknecht has received his PhD (Habilitation) at Heidelberg University during the period of 1998-2007. Currently, he is working as Senior Consultant and Vice Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Leipzig (Saxony). He is heading the out-patient dept. of affective disorders and the research group “Subcortical dysfunction in psychiatric disorders” He is serving as an associated editor of reputed journals like The Journal of Gerontopsychology and Geriatric Psychiatry. He has authored more than 100 research articles and books.
