Prathap Kumar Mahalingaiah

Biography

Dr. Prathap Kumar Mahalingaiah is an American Board certified Toxicologist (DABT) with 8+ years of experience in Preclinical Toxicology and Pathology. Prathap is currently working as a Senior Scientist in the Investigative Toxicology and Pathology Department at Abbvie, a Global Pharmaceutical Company in North Chicago, USA. He is mainly involved in designing and conducting investigative toxicology studies to understand mechanisms of toxicity and to identify early biomarkers for safety issues associated with novel Bio-therapeutics. Prathap completed his bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Masters in Veterinary Pathology from Veterinary College, Bangalore India. He received PhD degree in Toxicology from Texas Tech University, USA. He served as an elected officer for different specialty sections/special interest groups within Society of Toxicology (SOT) including Biotechnology Specialty Section (BTSS), Risk Assessment Specialty Section (RASS), Association of Scientists of Indian Origin (ASIO) and Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSLC). Prathap is also serving as an editorial member/advisory board member and ad-hoc peer reviewer for several scientific journals. He have authored/co-authored 13 peer reviewed research papers and book chapters.
