Rafael F. Castañeda Ruiz was born in 1951,Cuba. He is an expert in asexual fungi taxonomy. He had completed his Ph D in 2002. He works since 1981 in the fungus collection of the INIFAT 853 of the World Federation of culture collections as curator. He has participated in studies on the fungal diversity in various countries. He has isolated the pure cultures more than 13 000 strains of microscopic common, common and new, deposited in various collections of fungi.He plays the role of Editor in many Journals.
