Raj Kumar, PhD, is a professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Basic Sciences at The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC), Scranton, PA. Dr. Kumar received his Ph.D. degree from University of Lucknow, India and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston, TX. Before moving to TCMC, Dr. Kumar held a position of Associate Professor in the department of Internal Medicine at UTMB, Galveston, TX. He is a basic researcher with a long-standing interest in examining the role of structural dynamics of steroid hormone receptors in gene regulation in physiology and diseases, and has an extensive list of publications in this area in highly reputed peer reviewed journals. Dr. Kumar has trained a number of students and postdoctoral fellows in his laboratory. Dr. Kumar has served as a reviewer for about 40 scientific journals, and several national and international grant review panels.
