Ravi D. Vaishya

Biography

Dr. Vaishya obtained his Bachelors in Pharmacy from North Gujarat University, Gujarat, India. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science and Chemistry from University of Missouri-Kansas City, MO, USA. He is currently working as a Formulation Scientist at Insys Therapeutics Inc., USA, and a pharmaceutical company that develops innovative supportive care products. He has worked on National Institute of Health (NIH) and industry funded research projects. Dr. Vaishya’s work was focused on development of polymeric drug delivery systems for small molecule and biologics such as proteins and peptides. Primarily, he has developed ocular topical and injectable micelle, nanoparticle, microparticle and hydrogel formulations. His research interest also includes transporter targeted prodrug, evasion of efflux, peptide chemical stability, design of experiments and pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions. He has authored/co-authored several peer reviewed publications, patent and book chapters. Dr. Vaishya’s current research focus at Insys therapeutics involves product development of oral solution, sublingual spray and pMDIs for inhalation.
