Dr. Robert Mann is a forensic anthropologist and founding Director of the Central Identification Laboratory’s Forensic Science Academy. His previous positions include Assistant Morgue Director, University of Tennessee School of Medicine (Memphis) and Anthropologist at the Smithsonian Institution (Washington, DC). He has examined more than 4,000 ancient and modern human skeletons from around the world. Dr. Mann is one of about 80 anthropologists to qualify as Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Anthropology and is the first anthropologist to be inducted as a Fellow into the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the oldest private medical society in the United States. His research interests include bone disease and trauma, skeletal anomalies and malformations, and normal variants of the human skeleton. Dr. Mann has published 115 articles and four books that include Photographic Regional Atlas of Bone Disease (2013) and Forensic Detective (2006).
