Currently, I am working on understanding biochemical, electrophysiological and behavioral characteristics of clinically relevant Autism mouse models. To this end, I am actively learning extracellular field recordings in Hippocampal slices along with whole-cell patch electrophysiology. Successful completion of this project will enable us to understand the role of these Autism related risk genes in neurodevelopment and function. Additionally, this will also allow us to identify key players in the etiology of Autism spectrum disorders and facilitate design of therapeutic interventions to improve the quality of life in ASD patients.
