Dr. Salvador Soriano is an Associate Professor of Anatomy at Loma Linda University. He received a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Glasgow, UK and continued his scientific training with postdoctoral fellowships in Biochemistry at the University of Bristol and in Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego, where he carried out research on Alzheimer’s disease. He then moved to King’s College London as a Senior Lecturer, where he developed further his research on neurodegeneration using animal models of dementia and NiemannPick type C disease.
His current research interests at Loma Linda University are a continuation of those earlier studies with a special emphasis on the role of the neuronal cell cycle as a pathogenic factor in a variety of neurodegenerative diseases.
