Sergei A Svarovsky

Biography

Sergei is a broadly trained biophysical scientist who joined PharmaDiagnostics in 2010 from the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University (Phoenix, USA). There he was an Associate Professor and Director of the Microarray Facility leading a group involved in the applications of nanoparticles in large scale biological screening assays. Prior to this role, Sergei held the position of Senior Scientist in a private biopharmaceutical company developing small molecule pan-selectin inhibitors that have now reached Phase II clinical studies for the treatment of vaso-occlusive crisis of sickle cell disease.

Research Interest

Novel multivalent platforms for tailoring tumor-associated antigens onto the surface of metal and semiconductor nanocrystals. These nano-sized constructs were successfully used as anti-metastatic and cancer imaging beacons.
