SERGEI ZOLOTUKHIN graduated from Kiev State University, Ukraine, and pursued his graduate studies and PhD at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Ukraine. His postdoc was completed at the State University of New York, USA, and he is now Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida (UF), USA. Zolotukhin’s research program comprises two goals: to develop a better recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) vector for tissue-specific delivery of therapeutic transgenes, and to develop gene based therapies for obesity. He authored more than 80 publications in refereed journals and 12 patents. His track record includes 18 years of un-interrupted multiple NIH funding.
• Developing novel vectors and reporter transgenes using recombinant Adeno-associated virus (rAAV) platform.
• Developing non-conventional systems for production of rAAV vectors.
• Development of combinatorial AAV libraries for tissue-specific delivery of rAAV vectors.
