Shou-Jiang Gao

Biography

Dr. Shou-Jiang SJ Gao is the HEB Distinguished Chair for Cancer Research, a Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics Microbiology and Immunology Molecular Medicine and Medicine and the Leader of Tumor Virology Program at the Greehey Childrens Cancer Research Institute at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas, USA. He earned his PhD at the University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France and received Postdoctoral training at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Massachusetts and Columbia University in New York, New York. He has published over 90 peer-reviewed papers as well as several reviews and book chapters. He has over 15 years of teaching experience. He is a member of the American Society of Microbiology and several other professional organizations. He has served on the Editorial Board for several peer-reviewed journals and as a reviewer for over 30 peer reviewed journals in the area of Microbiology and Cancer Biology. He has served on grant review panels for National Institute of Health and several other Federal Organizations and private foundations. He has organized or co-organized several international conferences. He has received many awards like American Cancer Society, Research Scholar Award and American Society of Microbiology ICAAC Outstanding Young Investigator Award.
