Professor Shuli You was born in Henan, China (1975), and received his BSc in chemistry from Nankai University (1996). He obtained his PhD from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) in 2001 (Advisor: Prof. Lixin Dai) before doing postdoctoral studies with Prof. Jeffery W. Kelly at the Scripps Research Institute. From 2004, he worked at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation as a Principal Investigator before returning to SIOC in 2006. Prof You has published over 90 papers. Prof. You is the recipient of CAPA Distinguished Faculty Award (2008), the CCS Young Chemist Award (2008), Thieme Chemistry Journals Award (2010), The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2010), The Third CCS-RSC Young Chemist Award (2011), and AstraZeneca Excellence in Chemistry Award (2011). Prof You’s research interests mainly focus on enantioselective direct C-H bond functionalization and catalytic asymmetric dearomatization reaction.
