Dr. Sonia Guha received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from M.S. University, India. She did her postdoctoral training in retinal diseases from University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and later from University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, she works as a Staff Scientist with Jules Stein Eye Institute, University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Guha is interested in both degenerative and developmental eye diseases with specific emphasis on neurological determinants. Her research includes elucidating the relationships between neuro-receptors and lysosomal dysregulation in macular degeneration and exploring the eye brain connection. She is a reviewer for several peer reviewed journals and has authored several research articles. She has also been invited as a guest speaker in her field of interest at various international conferences. Dr. Guha is a member of Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and Society for Neuroscience.
