Dr. Sourav Roy is an Assistant Research Entomologist in the department of Entomology at the University of California, Riverside. He completed his PhD in Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics from UCR, after receiving his Masters in Bioinformatics from the School of Informatics, Indiana University, Bloomington. He also has a Masters degree in Zoology (track – cytogenetics) from the University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India and a PG Diploma in IT and Management from the All India Management Association. He developed a multidisciplinary approach for identification of Transcription factor binding sites for his doctoral research. He currently works on promoter and expression analyses of differentially regulated genes in the fat body of the female dengue fever mosquito Aedes aegypti.
