Stephanie Decker received her PhD from the University of Kansas and is currently an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Washburn University. Her interests include crime, deviance, social control, collective behavior, and social movements. Her research centers on how individuals make sense of both criminal activity and social control and the resulting political implications. Her recent research focuses on house arrest, war crimes of the Iraq War, the rules of engagement of the Iraq War, and public confessions of criminal activity in the Moscow Show Trials, the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission Amnesty Trials, and Iraq Veterans Against the War’s Winter Soldier event.
