Stoyka Masheva is a professor PhD in scientific department ”Technologies in vegetable production” in the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Institute - Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She has defended a PhD degree in soil microbiology at the Soil Science Institute, Sofia. Academic rank is associate professor and professor in science subject Plant Protection (phytopathology). Objects of its research activity are fungal diseases in vegetable crops - biology, means of control and plant breeding of resistance. Participation in development of combat systems - biological and integrated. During the past years her research interests are orientated in the field of alternative means for protection of vegetable crops from diseases. Author of over 100 publications. Member of staff of breeders developed three pepper varieties, resistant to Verticillium wilt – Kapia UV (Vertus), Maritsa and Kurtovska kapia 1. Co-author of Strategies: for the Development of fruit-growing and vegetable production in Bulgaria (2009-2013); Development of research in the field of agriculture, National strategy for sustainable development of agriculture in Bulgaria (2014-2020); 5 production technologies of vegetable crops. Member of ISHS, the Board of the SAA, academic and scientific councils. Member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Plant Science, Plant Protection and Agriculture plus. Member of the Council on Plant Protection Products to MAF. Lecturer in Plant Pathology at university.
