Dr. Sujoy Dutta received his B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1999 and M. Sc. in Biochemistry in 2001 from University of Calcutta (Kolkata) in West Bengal, India, and his PhD degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Illinois, USA in 2007. Dr. Dutta’s post doctoral research experience in the Leishmania research laboratory of the department of Microbiology and Immunology in Rosalind Franklin University includes cell biology and immunology of Leishmaniasis.
Dr. Dutta′s main research interest is in the area of cell biology and immunology of host-microbe interaction. The research goals are to develop novel strategies for diagnosis, treatment and prevention for microbial infectious diseases. The area of focus is host-parasite interaction using trypanosomatid protozoa Leishmania spp. as the model organism.
