Dr. Florian Szabados is a member of the German boards of Clinical Pathology (DGKL and BDL) and German and European boards of Hygiene and Microbiology (DGHM, ESCMID) and is a certified consultant for Clinical Pathology (Laboratory Medicine) and Microbiology, Virology, Infection Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases, and has additional special qualifications for Transfusion Medicine and Environmental Medicine. Since 2006 he has been at the Ruhr-University of Bochum where he is a lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor) at the Dept. for Medical Microbiology.
Dr. Florian Szabados research interest include pathogenicity of S. aureus, S. lugdunenis and S. saprophyticus, resistance mechanisms in gram negative organisms (ESBL, AmpC and carbapenemases) and the use of novel techniques and methods for diagnostic laboratory medicine.
