Tadeusz Robak

Dr. Tadeusz Robak is presently working as Professor of Hematology at the Medical University of Lodz and since 1997 he is Head of the Department of Hematology, at the Medical University and Copernicus Memorial Hospital in Lodz, Poland. He studied medicine at Medical University of Lodz and obtained his approval as hematologist in 1985 and clinical pharmacologist in 1987. In addition, he undertook further postgraduate training at Hammersmith Hospital and Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London. In 1996-2002 he was vice-rector and rector of the Medical University of Lodz. Professor Robak is a chairmen of the CLL subgroup of the Polish Adult Leukemia Study Group. He has written more than 500 journal articles 450 abstracts and 18 books or chapters. His special interests are on the application of nucleoside analogs and monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of leukemia and lymphoma. Professor Robak is involved in many translational research projects and was the principal investigator for several clinical trials of new drugs in leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. Prof. Tadeusz Robak has been selected by the World Scientists Forum for "Eminent Scientist of the year 2010" International Award in the field of Hematology-Oncology based on his research.
