Biography

Dr. Tian Wang received her PhD degree in Immunology at University of Texas Medical Branch in 2000.  She then completed a postdoctoral training in the area of vector-borne infectious pathogen at Yale University in 2004.  She was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and pathology at Colorado State University during 2005-2008.  Currently, Dr. Wang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Microbiology/Immunology and the Department of Pathology at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Since 2007, she has served for NIH study sections in the areas of Immune Mechanisms of Virus infection and Biodefense research.

Research Interest

Dr. Wang’s primary research focus is on viral immunology, mainly the understanding of immune response to West Nile virus infection in protection and pathogenesis.
