Dr. Utpal Sen is currently working in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics at the University of Louisville in USA.
My research interests focus on to investigate the effects of HHcy on protein homocysteinylation, glomerular-tubulointerstitial matrix remodeling and in vitro signaling cascades of mitophagy leading to renal dysfunction. To ameliorate renal pathophysiological changes, we plan to supplement H2S or in vitro H2S will be generated by CBS, CSE and 3-MST cDNA transfection. The novelty of our hypothesis is that HHcy can be beneficial if the Hcy is converted to a vasoprotective gas H2S by gene therapy.
