Varun Dwivedi is a postdoctoral researcher at the Wexner medical center, The Ohio State University. He is an immunologist with a focus on vaccine development and immune pathogenesis of bacterial and viral diseases. His current postdoctoral research focuses on the pathogenesis and vaccine development against infectious pathogens such as tuberculosis and malaria. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2008 from Aligarh Muslim University, India, where he developed fusogenic liposomes from microbial lipids as antigen and drug delivery systems against various disease models. In 2009, he joined OARDC, The Ohio State University as a postdoctoral research fellow where his research focus was in understanding the mucosal immunity in porcine viral infections leading to the development of novel intranasal mucosal vaccines against porcine respiratory diseases namely PRRS and swine influenza. Varun Dwivedi has served as an editorial board member and has reviewed a number of manuscripts with several journals.
