Vincenzo Scalia is Reader in Criminology at the University of Winchester, UK.Born and brought up in Palermo, Sicily, Vincenzo has been active in the domain of criminology since late 1990s. His most outstanding mentors are Dario Melossi, Massimo Pavarini, David Nelken and Vincenzo Ruggiero. He has taught and researched in Italy (Bologna, Palermo, Macerata) UK, Argentina (Universidad del Museo Social), Mexico (Universidad Autonoma de Tlaxcala). He has been visiting professor at the Universities of Pisa, Parma and Piemonte Orientale (Italy), as well as at the Universidad Autonoma de Tlaxcala (Mexico). Vincenzo has published 5 books, 25 articles and 27 book chapters. His works are published in italian, spanish, english and turkish. His research interest include urban security, juvenile deviance, terrorism, organised crime, police brutalities.
