Wen Feng Lin, PhD
Department of Physical Chemistry
Queens University Belfast, UK
Dr. WF Lin, Lecturer in Physical Chemistry at Queen’s University Belfast, has particular expertise in fuel cells, electro-catalysis, nanomaterials, surface chemistry and electrochemistry. He has over 100 publications his top 3 papers have over 400 citations. Dr. Lin received his Ph.D in Chemistry from Xiamen University. He held prestige Humboldt and Max-Planck-Gesellschaft fellowships and worked with Nobel Laureate Prof. Ertl in Berlin before moving to the UK. He has pioneered studies of electro-catalysis of small fuel molecules using well defined model catalysts of Ru, Pt and PtRu. He has commissioned four sophisticated novel in situ/on-line FTIR spectroscopy systems for electrochemistry and fuel cell studies. He has achieved a breakthrough in catalysis for generating ozone from water in a clean, energy saving and sustainable process. The technology has been commercialized through a spin-out company. He has strong contacts in China and holds 4 visiting Professorships to leading universities in China.
