Professor Xiaolin Zhong received his Ph.D. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, under the joint supervision of Professors Robert MacCormack and Dean Chapman, from Stanford University in 1991. Since then, he has been a faculty member of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at UCLA (Assistant Professor: 91-97, Associate Professor: 97-02, and Professor: 02-present).
He was elected Associate Fellow of the AIAA in 2000 and has been serving as an Associate Editor of the AIAA Journal since 2005.
Dr. Xiaolin Zhong main research areas are computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the stability and transition of high-speed boundary layers, and computational nonequilibrium hypersonic flows.
