Assistant Professor
Wayne State University, United States
Dr. Xin Jin is a Research Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering Department at Wayne State University. He received his B.S. (2001) and M.S. (2004) degrees in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University in China. On 2009, he received his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Wayne State University. His teaching and research expertise are in the area of impact biomechanics and study on injury mechanisms using experimental approach and computer simulation. He worked in a variety of biomechanical studies such as brain tissue biomechanics, blast injury prevention, and whole-body finite element model development. Publications and presentations were in the area of tissue biomechanics, computer aided surgery, experimental orthopedics, and automotive crashworthiness and safety.
Tissue to whole-body level impact biomechanics; study of injury mechanisms using experimental methods and computer simulation; developing patient-specific finite element models for protecting vulnerable population (infants and elderly) in impact scenarios.
