Yuan-Tay Shyu, Ph.D.,is now the Dean of College of Bioresource & Agriculture (CBA), National Taiwan University. CBA compose of near 300 faculty members and 4,000+ under- and post-graduate students. Before coming to the Dean of CBA, Dr. Shyu served as Director of BioDiversity Research Center of National Taiwan University (2008-2012), and Chairman of Department of Horticulture of National Taiwan University (2002-2008).
Dr. Shyu received his B.S. and M.S. degree in Horticulture from National Taiwan University and his Ph.D. degree in Food Science with a minor in Microbiology from North Carolina State University of USA. Dr. Shyu also had two years postdoctoral training in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, University of California, Davis, U.S.A.
Dr. Shyu has published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and 4 Invention Patents. He has been honored the Best Research Award from Taiwan Horticulture Society in 2005, the Best Research Award from Taiwan Food Science and Technology Society in 2006, National Ten Best Agriculture Experts of Taiwan R.O.C. in 2010.
