Dr. Yuji Zhang is an assistant professor of Medical Informatics at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Her research focuses on developing translational bioinformatics approaches to understand the physiological states of the cell and the organism, including disease states.Dr. Zhang received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2010.
Shehas more than 10 years of bioinformatics and systems biology research experience on integrating and analyzing multi-source biological data to extract and analyze novel associations among different biological entities.After joining the faculty at the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic in 2010,Dr. Zhanghas been involved in developing integrative analytical approaches for different types of next-generation sequencing data including exome and targeted re-sequencing, and RNA-sequencing of various diseases in the context of personalized medicine.
