Assistant Professor, Department of Forest Resources Conservation
Southwest Forestry University, China
Yukun Liu is an Assistant Professor of Key Laboratory for Forest Resources Conservation and Use in the Southwest Mountains of China at the Southwest Forestry University, China. He got his B.S. and Ph.D. from the Shandong Agricultural University, where he has been trained in plant molecular biology. Currently, researches in Yukun Liu lab focus on plant molecular evolution and forest molecular biology. He is interested in the elucidation of intracellular signal transduction pathways (mitogen-activated protein kinase cascades) in tree development and tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses and the creation of new tools for tree improvement. Plant materials used in Yukun Liu lab include spruce (Picea sp.), poplar (Populus trichocarpa) and bamboo (Bambusaceae).
