Biography
Dr. Fabio Angeli is an Investigator and co-responsible for planning and management of mono-centre and multi-centre Clinical Studies on Cardiovascular Drugs. Author of more than 200 scientific works on cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hypertension (including original articles, meta-analyses, reviews, commentaries and abstracts) published in leading journals including The Lancet, Circulation, J Am Coll Cardiol, Hypertension, Am J Cardiol, Am J Hypertens and others (list of articles indexed by ISI Web of Knowledge enclosed). The topâ€Âranked article (Hypertension 2004) received 183 citations in the medical literature as of March 31, 2010. Several invited lectures held in Italy.

Dr. Fabio Angeli research interest include Cardiovascular risk assessment in patients with hypertension, diabetes, heart failure and coronary artery disease. Evaluation of cardiovascular treatment. Diagnosis and treatment of acute myocardial infarction.

Biography
Dr. Chen received his graduate education at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. While there he started his research on gastrointestinal motility with a group of internationally renowned investigators in the Department of Medicine. Upon completing his PhD in 1989, Dr. Chen moved to the United State where he accepted a faculty position at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine. In 1995, Dr. Chen moved to Baptist Medical Center of Oklahoma, where he established an Electrophysiology Laboratory and worked intensively on electrophysiology of the gut and gastrointestinal pacing. In June 1999, he joined the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Internal Medicine at UTMB and is currently a Professor of Medicine.
Dr. Chen served as the first President of the International Electrogastrography Society, has given over 180 invited lectures in various countries, served on committees of national and international conferences, published one book, over 310 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and over 400 conference papers and abstracts. His research has been supported by over 100 grants from the federal government, state, private foundations and industries. Dr. Chen has filed or awarded more than 20 patent applications. Dr. Chen is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of various professional societies in medicine and biomedical engineering. Dr. Chen serves as a council member of American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society and a Board Member of North American Neurodumulation Society.
Research Interest
Dr. Chen research interest include physiology and pathophysiology of gastrointestinal motility as well as obesity and diabetes. Specific research topics include clinical gastrointestinal motility studies and electrical therapies (gastrointestinal electrical stimulation, spinal cord stimulation and vagal nerve stimulation) for functional gastrointestinal disorders, obesity and diabetes.

Biography
Dr. Mario Barbagallo is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and the Director of the Geriatric Unit in University of Palermo, Italy.
Chairman of the IAGG-ER (International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics) clinical section and member of the superior council of the minister of health. He is the Director of the Geriatric Unit, Director of the Department of Emergent Pathologies, University Hospital and Director Post-graduate program in Geriatrics at University of Palermo, Italy.
Author of more than 500 publications on Italian and International Journals and over 200 published abstracts. He received Ph.D. in Physiology, University of Parma and University of Rome. In 1991 he was in Italian Board of Internal Medicine: specialty in Internal Medicine.
He has peer reviewed more than 300 papers from several international journals. He Is member of the editorial board of the several journals, including Magnesium Research, Aging- Clinical and experimental Research, Journal of Cardiometabolic syndrome; Giornale Italiano di Gerontologia;; among others.
