Editorial Note - (2020)Volume 6, Issue 2
The New Year promises many exciting developments for Journal of Perioperative & Critical Intensive Care Nursing (JPCIC). Popularity of the JPCIC can be ascertained by the reader’s interest, curiosity and support, which is estimated from the response we have been receiving from diverse geographical regions all across the world. This is further ratified by the Google Analytics metrics that analyses and releases our reader’s profile from time to time and the total numbers of page views are 2167. Moreover, the number of citations per year continues its robust rise as articles enjoy increasingly broad dissemination. The journal is now getting indexed in different academic forums. All these are promising signs. Congratulations to all of our Editorial Board members, reviewers, authors and readers for achieving this distinction.
I am delighted to mention that during the year 2019, all 3 issues of volume 5 were published online well within the time. As a supplement, JPCIC published conference proceedings named “East Asian Congress on Nursing and Primary Health Care” with 5 Keynotes from eminent speakers, 3 Scientific Tracks Abstracts and 3+ Posters & Accepted Abstracts.
On behalf of the Board of the JPCIC and my co-editors, I am glad to present the successful journey of the journal upon the completion of five years milestone of establishment in 2019. Till 2019, JPCIC received a total of 110 papers, out of which 8 articles (8%) were rejected in the preliminary screening due to plagiarism or being out of the format. Around 100 articles were subjected to the peer-review process and 65 of those were accepted & published in journal.
As a Scientific Open Access journal, the objective of JPCIC is to publish the latest advancements in Critical Care Nursing, Nursing diagnosis, Nursing process, Nursing workload, Operating room nursing care, Perioperative care, Perioperative nurses, Perioperative Nursing, Postoperative care, Standards of care etc.
In order to publish up-to-date, high-quality and original research, JPCIC aspires to coin a special issue-2020 on Coronavirus disease pandemic. Therefore, Editorial Board members of JPCIC are decided special issue title as “Patient care, nursing safety & workload balance during Covid-19 pandemic situation”. The topics to be covered under this are
• Managing patients
• Emergency planning for critically ill patients
• Nursing diagnosis & treatment
• ICU nursing capacity and workload
• Special safety precautions to nursing staff
Authors are cordially invited to submit their current research activities and outcomes in the form of any article type of science communication such as original research, review, expert opinion, commentary, short note communication to our Journal.
Manuscripts can be submitted online via Editorial Tracking System or as an E-mail attachment to the Editorial Office at criticalcare@journalsci.org or criticalcare@medicalres.org. JPCIC is using Online Review and Editorial Tracking Systems for quality review process and the authors can submit manuscripts and track their progress.
I take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of Dr. Yau Sui Yu Ivy during the final editing of articles published and the support rendered by the editorial assistant, Ms. Julia Gillard in bringing out issues of JPCIC in time. I would also like to express my gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, the publisher, the advisory and the editorial board of JPCIC, the office bearers and staff for their support in bringing out yet another volume of JPCIC and look forward to their unrelenting support to bring out the Volume 6 of JPCIC in scheduled time.
