Balancing the need to have sufficient drugs on hand to meet patient demand while avoiding overstocking can be tricky. Stock outs can lead to treatment delays, whereas overstocking ties up valuable resources. Pharmaceutical products have expiry dates, and improper management can result in drug wastage, causing financial losses. Healthcare facilities must adhere to strict regulations concerning drug procurement, storage, and disposal. Non-compliance can lead to legal issues and loss of accreditation. Ensuring the safe and secure storage of drugs is crucial. Inadequate storage conditions can compromise the effectiveness of medications and patient safety.
