Inflammation of the penis rounded head (the glans). Posthitis is the inflammation of the foreskin. Balanitis and posthitis commonly occur simultaneously in the uncircumcised man as balanoposthitis: inflammation of both the glans and foreskin. Balanitis is a kind of discomfort and inflammation (swelling and irritation) of the glans (head) of the penis that most commonly affects uncircumcised men. Circumcision is a treatment that removes skin from the head of the penis (foreskin) (the glans). A yeast infection is the most common cause of balanitis, although it can also be caused by a bacterial or viral infection. It's not infectious. Balanitis is characterized by swelling and redness of the foreskin. Other signs and symptoms might include:
• On the genital area, there is pain and discomfort (head of the penis).
• On the penis, there is redness or red spots.
• Itching in the area of the foreskin.
• Swelling.
• On the penis, there are areas of glossy or white skin.
• Smegma (white discharge) under the foreskin
• There is a foul odour.
• Urination is terribly painful.
• On the head of the penis, there are sores or ulcers (this symptom is rare and appears with a type of balanitis that affects men over age 60).
Balanitis is the result of skin irritation, fungal infection, bacterial infection then use topical corticosteroid (steroid cream or ointment) for skin irritation, antifungal cream or an oral antifungal medication for fungal infection , seven-day course of oral antibiotics (antibiotic tablets or capsules) for bacterial infection
