This article explores the symbiotic relationship between anesthesia and critical care on their interdependence and the profound impact they have on patient outcomes.
The evolution of anesthesia
Anesthesia has undergone significant advancements since its introduction in the 19th century. Initially, the primary goal was to eliminate pain during surgery, but the discipline has since expanded to include various types of anesthesia, such as general, regional, and local anesthesia.
