Nutrition serves as the cornerstone of health, influencing every aspect of our physical and mental well-being. From providing essential nutrients for growth and development to safeguarding against chronic diseases, the impact of nutrition extends far beyond mere sustenance. In this article, we delve into the multifaceted realm of nutrition, exploring its significance, principles, and the profound effects it has on our lives. At its core, nutrition refers to the process by which the body obtains and utilizes nutrients from food for growth, repair, and energy. These nutrients encompass macronutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, as well as micronutrients including vitamins and minerals, each playing a unique and vital role in maintaining optimal health. Carbohydrates serve as the body's primary source of energy, providing fuel for physical activity and metabolic processes. Proteins, composed of amino acids, are essential for building and repairing tissues, supporting immune function, and regulating hormones. Fats play a crucial role in cell membrane structure, hormone production, and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.
